„Stars auf Eis – von und mit Katarina Witt“ – Series 1

Katarina’s new TV series “Stars auf Eis” (“Stars on Ice”) takes to the air on German TV on 18 October 2006 and will be broadcast on ProSieben on Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m.

The top skaters and nine celebrities on “Stars auf Eis”

Four Olympic victories, 21 world championship titles and 91 German championship titles: the participants in the new ProSieben show “Stars auf Eis – von und mit Katarina Witt” (“Stars on Ice – produced and hosted by Katarina Witt”) have already achieved outstanding success as professional skaters. Top professional German-speaking figure skaters, including reigning German champion Annette Dytrt and world champion Denise Biellmann, and nine celebrities – some of whom successful sports personalities themselves – take to the ice. Each celebrity is partnered up with a professional skater, who gives them valuable tips during training and takes the lead in the pairs skating sequence. Katarina Witt was able to sign up for ProSieben top young professional figure skaters. Reigning German figure-skating champion Annette Dytrt and her skating partner Norman Jeschke, world champion Denise Biellmann, world championship bronze medallists and several-times German champions Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse, several-times Scandinavian champion Mikkeline Kierkgaard, two-times German champion Silvio Smalun and the German junior ice-dancing champion (2002) Vladimir Tsvetkov lend their support on the ice to the brave and determined and committed celebrities.

The professional panel of judges is joined by Jeanette Biedermann; while “taff” presenter Stefan Gödde dons his skates to join host and co-producer Katarina Witt as co-presenter. The pair will be hosting the show together live from the Europa-Park theme park in Rust, whereby Katarina Witt has just one aim in mind: to bring this sport that she lives and loves to a larger audience and to prove that figure skating is not just a sport, but also good entertainment.
