Description: In this remarkable show, a mélange of figure skating, music and action painting, a painter interpreted live with his paintbrush the songs being played, while the figure skaters danced to these same songs on the ice. Performances by soul diva Gladys Knight and opera star Renee Flemming made the evening a truly unforgettable experience.

Description: “The Kat Club”, a seedy jazz bar, formed the backdrop for an all-star female ensemble that transported the audience back to the roaring twenties. The live jazz band “Dave’s True Story” helped create an authentic ambience. The ice was set alight by the band’s version of the classic hit “Fever”, und Katarina’s free-skating sequence to this song was and remains one of her all-time best performances.

Description:
For her first-ever US TV special, Katarina Witt came up with the idea of an all-female figure-skating show. The stars of the show included reigning gold medal winners Tara Lipinski and Ekatarina Gordeeva and world champions Lu Chen and Yuka Sato. The show turned into a celebration of women. Through their performances, however, the female skaters aimed to pay tribute to the men in their lives. For Katarina Witt, dancing to the song “Let’s Fall in Love” proved an extra special moment because Diana Krall, whose music Katarina Witt had only just discovered and fallen in love with a couple of years previously, performed the song live. Thus, Diana was the first performer to be invited by Katarina Witt to take part in “Divas on Ice” as a special guest.
